Over the past 14 years of marriage, Maro, the kids and I have gone to Greece almost every summer. The trips began in 2005, the year after Maro and I got married. Every year we try to take a trip to Greece, with Maro's parents and siblings to experience Greece, take side trips to new places, and eat....and man do I mean eat. BUT, the absolute main reason is to to see Yai Yai and Pa Pou. Every day we are in the area of Katarini, we visit them.
This was my first destination in Europe and a launch pad to be able to see a new country, a new culture, a new experience as a whole. During our trips to Greece we have seen Meteora, Kos, Skiathos, Pelion, along with Rome, Venice, Istanbul, Bodrum. We have hiked Mt. Olympus, experienced museums, watched a wedding procession walk through the streets, and met amazing people. Our experiences are a lot about the places, but more often it is about the people and relationships we make along the way.Vangeli, our nine year old has been almost every year of his life and Eli (almost 6) is right behind him. Our two year old has gone for her second time this year. We traveled with all three kids this past summer. Never let anyone talk you out of traveling with kids. Can it be hard....of course it can. However, the experience is always worth the effort.
